Nanny nanny here- @ what point do i say enough!?? trying to get 3rd grader & 6th grader to do reports... we have made excellent progress last 3 weeks but EVERY night i lay out home...(more) (5 replies)With parents, in morning I have noticed no homework is completed and kids say "we played Wii"...... I am livid today as 2 reports are due and becuz of parents lack of responsibility 2.5 hrs later I'm still doing homework.. at what point do I say "enough!" ? I have voiced this to parents.. So what are the odds 7-11 will sell me beer at 12:30, oh ya and I don't have shoes on I lost them putting the boys to sleep... Well testing theory now.. I'm 50/50 on ability to buy a beer. Bree Briggs is laughing.. not only did i not have shoes on when i bought beer, i looked like a slob... part of me wishes they didnt want to sell me the beer... i kinda wanted to have a grown up argument

sometimes after a long yet fun night at Chuck E Cheese you have that midnight desire... a cold frosty one.. the kids are in bed.. the husband is a jackass and a beer in a nice mug sounds like quite the indulgence...

So fear not. You have now reached a certain age where it is not only appropriate for a mother to leave the house looking a distaster it is almost desired. Crawl out from your laundry pile, run to 7-11 or if your feeling extra adventerours saddle on up to a barstool.

You look free and liberated. And past a certain time people just dont bother you.. Unless you truly desire a grown up argument.. which i may suggest "Nuh-uh" is quite a comeback

10yr old william has terrible behavior: yells, talks back and exhibits violence towards me... instead of doing the "no tv" / "no video games". I put him in a 10 minute -quiet- time -out... (supernanny style with apology, no communication and hug at end) Seems to be working and william has started to curb the behavior because when parents get home I can't enforce the "no tv or games" rule, so he essentially can get away with no punishment... Do you think this instant consequence is a good idea? I feel lame putting a 10yr old in time out... Parents are no help and I call it a quiet -time- out as not to degrade him by saying Time Out like 4yr old jon gets.

my pissed nanny rant- im sitting on the grass watching sports practice- waiting for chuck to get the other 2 kids... i have snacks, balls, chair, blanket, skateboard, helmet and we are hanging out having fun-

and then dad shows up...
Anyway dad shows up barely mutters a "hello" towards me and then demands the kids "hurry up let's go watch practive"...

sometimes i want to scream HEY ASSHOLE I spent the entire day caring for your children.... At least ask me when they last ate, how the day was, if they had a bowel movement...

sometimes i feel like i am leading two lives, i wake up in this nice quiet apartment... and then drive to my big house with a husband and son's and do the housework, provide active child care, soccer and baseball practice things... and at 7pm i drive back to this lil apartment and silence.. almost like living two lives

go to Goodwill and Salvation Army and for $2 buy tourist t-shirts (i love NY, someone in Hawaii got me this shirt, kiss me I've been to disney...) i wear them and feel Special if get pretend... I also buy marathon shirts and feel like a runner or hiker or special for the day

i am so f*cking tired of begging these children james8 + will 10 to do homework... i've created the most ideal homework area, give snacks and downtime after school then they just stare into h... For three hours and literally no homework is done... Reward system? I want homework done because I feel that's a crummy thing to make parents endure when they are off work, they should get to enjoy time with there children..? Rant over
