No Myspace for forty days and forty nights. What To give up for Lent?

No Myspace for forty days and forty nights. What To give up for Lent? Challange yourself
This meaning of Lent dates back to the fourth century. Lent is a time for soul searching and rededication to Jesus Christ. February 21st to April 8th
What can i give up for Lent? Typically your not to eat meat. Well i am a vegan so that doesn't count. Cant get outa that one... I can't give up drinking, since I am not drinking anyway. My dad gave that up last year, and we spent three weekends at the boat and one in glamis and he wasn't able to have even a beer. I remember when he opened one for me and smelled it.. HAHAH... I want a relationship with god and i want to show respect. I want to do this right. I really do not know what to sacrafice... Last year i gave up Peanut M&M's. I never ate one. Even after winning all the peanuts in our peanut poker game (we had no poker chips) To this day i have really not eaten peanut M&M's... I could give up my PerezHilton. But what would I do with those extra hours? How would I know about Brit Brit, Fugs and Jugs or Anna Nicole or Hugh Grant.. Cannot give up my Perez or my TMZ. I could give up wearing black? But that would cost me a lotta money, i would have to buy new shoes, new socks, new bra's, oh, i wouldn't be able to waitress considering the uniform is strictly black. Oh wow. My mom just said I should give up Sex. Umm NO.. if i get the opportunity to get laid i am not giving in up for Lent. Sorry god. I could go to the bank (and deposit my 6 paychecks) and get cash and avoid use of my credit card. I wonder. that would be super restrictive. Like i wouldn't be able to charge Anything, cash cash cash. But i already did that, i called it January. And was 25 days successful, then in the last weekend of January i spent $1,975 in two days. Kinda invalidated the other triumphant days. I could give up Myspace. But then how would that change my relationships with people. Huh. Give up Myspace? That is crazy, is it possible? It would certainly be much healthier. And would probably make me a much better person, friend and employee. Give up Myspace and Avoid the drama??. But then i would miss out on the baby pictures, the daily entertainment that my friends provide, no more daily rants or myspace spying... It comes down to two things: No Myspace Or No Credit Cards.
Wow. Okay tonight I am saying No more Myspace. Fuck this shit. It really is shit too. We used to have relationships with people. they used to tell us their stories and we used to actually laugh. Now we Skim over their rambles and send a reply that says LOL. We say lol, not even a real word. No need to call these people we had a brief update with our morning coffee.... We read each other's survey and now know they are allergic to chocolate, hate their jobs and even know who the last person that was hugged.. How have we turned into this..We used to move on from the negative people in our lives but then we click the search option and boom they are back.. I didn't get 20,200 page views for nothing.. A bunch of Someone's are looking at my life.. But i am almost ashamed to say "i gave up Myspace for Lent" ... Its like a dirty little secret everyone has a myspace but no one admits to it.. Doing it.
Lent lasts forty days, Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter.
The forty day period is symbolic of the forty days spent by Jesus in the wilderness; the forty days Moses spent on Mount Sinai with God; the forty days and nights Elijah spent walking to Mt. Horeb; in the story of Noah, God makes it rain for forty days and forty nights, the Hebrew people wandered forty years traveling to the Promised Land. Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights.
Fasting during Lent is a way for the Christian to identify with Jesus in his suffering.
He suffered in the ultimate of ways, and I contemplate giving up myspace?
what does that say about our society?
Good Bye Myspace.

"Get Over It Day is a new holiday taking place on March 9th (the exact mid-point between Valentine’s Day and April Fool’s Day) because, at one time or another, EVERYONE has SOMETHING to get over! (regardless of what – or whom – "it" may be for you)."
The timing couldn’t be better. I’m not saying. I’m just saying.
